Hall of Fame referee Arthur Mercante passed away at his home this morning (August 10th). Arthur was ninety (90) years of age. He is survived by his Wife, Gloria and sons, James, Glenn, Arthur and Thomas. Mercante refereed many championhip fights including the “Fight of the Century” between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier at Madison Square Garden on March 8, 1971.
