To All,
It is with the deepest regret that I inform the NABF and WBC Office of the passing away of former NABF Light Middleweight Champion Brett “Irish Hawk” Lally. Earlier this evening I received a call from Brett’s brother Brad informing me of this situation. There will be a viewing for Brett on Thusday. On Friday he will lay in state 9-9:30 followed with a mass and then the funeral. At the family’s request we will preform the traditional ten count during his lay in state.
Brett was a favorite boxer in the Michigan area. He was known for his heart and toughness and a solid body attack. He won the Light Middleweight NABF title on 6/25/90 with a WTKO4 over Robert Hines in Atlantic City, NJ. He defended the title suucessfully against Art Serwano on 1/15/91 via WTKO4. He fought one time for the WBC title losing to Terry Norris TKO1 on 8/17/91. His overall record was 32-12, 19 KO’s.
I will forward you more information tomorrow when it becomes available.
Sincerely,
Frank Garza
