President’s Report: October 2010

Summer has now past, so it’s time to pick up steam in getting NABF Title bouts rolling. On September 11th, Champion Johnathon Banks retained his Heavyweight title by Unanimous Decision in Frankfurt, Germany.
We have a new, Female Light Flyweight champion. On October 2nd, Mexican born, Jessica Chavez won a well deserved ten round decision.  

On October 9th, Francisco Arce takes on Isidro “Chino” Garcia for the vacantSuperBantam title in Monterrey, Mexico, followed by a double header on October 15th, at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma when Shawn Porter meets Hector Munoz for the vacant Welterweight title and Lateef Kayode meets Epifanio Mendoza to fill the vacant Cruiserweight strap.

November 13th, brings Luis “Duro” May against Faustino Cupel for the Flyweight title in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. This title became vacant when Fighter of the Year, Wilberth Uicab won the WBC Silver Belt.

Our Super Middleweight Title is up for grabs on November 19th when Farah Ennis meets Epifanio Mendoza at Harrah’s Atlantic City, NJ

We welcome Athenia Maria Arguello, 7.4 pounds, born Thursday, October 7th in New York City, USA, first child of Alexis Arguello, Jr. Alexis has recently become a part of the NABF family.

The WBC Convention in Cancun is fast approaching and reservations are going well, if you haven’t made yours as yet, now is the time.
